Wentworth and Alderson Host October Art Exhibition at The Grandin Theatre Art Gallery

During the month of October artists, Anna Wentworth and Chris Alderson will exhibit their art on the second floor of The Historic Grandin Theatre.

Anna Wentworth majored in English at Radford University where she began working in watercolor and acrylics. Post College she took art workshops with artists like Peyton Klein, Vera Dickerson, Anne Way Bernard, and many others. Under the mentorship of artist Ann Glover, Wentworth began working almost as exclusively in oil. Currently, she primarily works in oil and acrylic interchangeably.

In her paintings, she uses a lot of color, light and movement, and much of this unconscious. Anna is inspired by impressionists and port impressionist. Her paintings are not detailed. She uses color for mood, atmosphere, movement, and contrast.

Chris Alderson taught English and Art for many years. After retiring, she went back to study watercolor with Rod Adams in Bedford and oil painting with Anne Way Bernard in Boones Mill.

She began traveling overseas with several friends, one of whom is Anna Wentworth. Chris has traveled to Provence in France, Tuscany in Italy, Iceland, Finland, and Norway. These amazing trips and landscapes have inspired her to keep painting.

Come to visit The Grandin Theatre Art Gallery to see their art!
