THIS SHOW IS SOLD OUT
Thu 8/28, 7:00 pm
Location: Main Theatre
Clothes carry our stories — some loud, some quiet, some that never got told until now. A sweater you swore you’d never take off. A bridesmaid dress that witnessed a betrayal. The thrifted tee you wore every day of that one impossible summer. A pair of pants that fit you differently after a loss. Your grandmother’s scarf that still smells like her perfume. Those horrible clogs. That hand me down wedding dress. The tux that belonged to your dad. The uniform. Those leg warmers!
The time you shed it all. “The Way We Wore” is a night of true stories told live on stage — all centered on the clothing that shaped us, revealed us, disguised us, or let us disappear. These aren’t stories about fashion. They’re stories about identity, memory, body image, inheritance, rebellion, grief, reinvention… all told through what we wore at the time.
We expect this show to sell out quickly. Grab your tickets today!
Clothes do more than cover us. They mark time. They hold stories. They remember the night we said yes, the day we said goodbye, the version of ourselves we tried on — or left behind.
In typical Hoot and Holler form, you can expect everything from funny and fierce to raw and reflective. (And probably a surprise or two for good measure. )
Interested in sharing a story? We love and welcome new voices! To submit your story pitch, we ask that you submit in writing a detailed version of the story you would like to tell. We ask that stories are true according to the memory of the storyteller. We look for a beginning, middle, and end. We look for humor, truth, vulnerability, a clear sense of place and time. We love surprises! We love stories that think outside of the box! Give us all of the juicy details!
