Bluegrass band Big Richard makes music for the 21st century’s twisted cultural unease. Their latest album Pet, out this February on Signature Sounds, is a fierce, provocative, rejoinder to what troubles them and the world right now. It was recorded live to tape in order to capture the fervor of their live shows.
“Big Richard is so much about our energetic delivery, and so I think it's been really important for us as a group to figure out how to do that for a record,” says mandolin and guitar player Bonnie Sims.
Big Richard delivers ferocious, unapologetic acoustic music with big energy and even bigger chops. Their live shows are raucous, emotional, and irreverent — mixing ripping instrumentals, dark humor, and raw, socially charged songs.

The SPILL THE HONEY non-profit takes its name from the inspirational story of Eli Ayalon, a Holocaust survivor, who was gifted a cup of honey from his mother the final day she would see him before being sent by the Nazis to five (5) concentration camps. The honey symbolized hope and survival. He came to understand the power of using his voice and telling his story to inspire others to not remain silent in the face of hate and dehumanization. Likewise, Dr. King used his voice and strength to love, transform and mobilize America's consciousness to recognize our shared humanity.
The SPILL THE HONEY organization's goal is to enable EVERYONE to spread dignity, goodness, and kindness. The sweetness of honey should spill over, connecting people of ALL faiths and races. Our film "Shared Legacies" shows the incredible importance of the shared history and strengths that flow from the Black-Jewish Alliance. We work on educational initiatives with activists from across the globe to bring awareness of past and present so that we can defeat the illnesses of antisemitism and racism.
Special Guest: Dr. Benjamin Chavis, former NAACP Executive Director.
Clear bag policy: No bags, backpacks, or totes will be allowed into this event unless they are clear, transparent bags where items contained within can be seen clearly.

Bonnie Chavez - "This movie is a legal drama that sheds light on corporate accountability, a path not often taken in the early 90s. Ms. Brockovich is real, gritty, and incredibly charming as she demonstrates what can be done with the power of community. Julia Roberts portrays our heroine with street smarts and compassion - a delightful performance."
Getra Hanes - "Erin Brockovich tells the story of one woman who decided that protecting her community mattered more than staying silent. It’s a powerful reminder that courage and persistence can create real change — and that safeguarding our environment and our neighbors starts with ordinary citizens willing to speak up."
