On their self-titled debut album, Fancy Gap – the duo of singer/songwriter Stuart McLamb (The Love Language) and songwriter/producer Charles Crossingham – takes listeners on a journey that steers through life’s melodies with windows down. It’s a country-tinged, radio-ready sound, yet delves deep into universal themes. From stirring reflections on death and aging to the joyous celebrations of life, love, and triumph, every track on Fancy Gap captures different facets of the human experience. With a twang evoking the heartland and a widescreen perspective hinting at something greater, McLamb and Crossingham explore poignant moments of laughter and loss, enduring bonds of friendship, and the ups and downs of relationships.
With deep ties to the Roanoke region, and backed by their full band, come join Stuart, Charles, and the Grandin Theatre for this night of incredible live music.
The Concerns are a super group from Roanoke, Va. consisting of artist and singer songwriter Daniel Cundiff (The Young Sinclairs, Eternal Summers, The Sad Cobras) on guitar. Sam Lunsford (Stimulator Jones, The Young Sinclairs, Cinematheque) on drums. John Pence (The Young Sinclairs, Cinematheque, Decampi) on guitar. And Taylor Lineberry (Woolens) on bass. Their first album, County Blue on WarHen Records, infused elements of early 90's alt. rock, alt. country, indie folk, and a touch of shoegaze and was mixed by Louie Lino of Nada Surf. They have spent the last year recording a follow up album using their special fusion of "spacey alt. county-shoegaze" in a secret location in the Blue Ridge Mountains called the Mystic Fortress.
