In celebration of the Grandin Theatre Foundation’s 10th Anniversary Black History Month Film Festival, and in conjunction with the Harrison Museum of African American Culture, we present our Black History Month KICKOFF GALA, celebrating A MONTH OF MICHEAUX. For the month we’ll be celebrating Oscar Micheaux - the first Black pioneer filmmaker, his contributions to the world of filmmaking, and his deep ties to Roanoke.

Join us on Thursday, January 29th for our red carpet KICKOFF GALA to celebrate the month and our screening of the Micheaux classic, WITHIN OUR GATES. Come celebrate Oscar Micheaux, the Grandin Theatre, and the Harrison Museum of African American Culture as we present this remarkable lineup and our kickoff event.
