Comeback Stories - General Admission - $22 + tax

We all have a comeback story and Hoot and Holler is shining a light and celebrating those moments where we’ve come back from the brink.

We all have these phoenix moments- the ones where we rise back up from medical challenges, tragedies, toxic environments, near death experiences, legal woes, financial ruin, dissolution of relationships, or adversities of any kind. Conversely, perhaps we come back to a place, person, or situation that we thought we’d left.

There are endless interpretations of this theme! These stories will showcase the true resilience of the human spirit. We will celebrate reclamation, rebirth, and empowerment through brave and bold personal tales of truth.

Do you feel you have a story but perhaps not quite ready for the curated show?

Would you like to try out your story in a more relaxed and open mic type of format? We are introducing a brand new event series we call the rowdy little sister of Hoot and Holler, 5 Minute Hootenanny.

This event will begin immediately following our main stage show at 9:30 as a separate ticket show and will run for one hour. Potential tellers will put their names in a hat for the opportunity to take the mic and share a five minute story based on the theme of the night. We will set a timer, and once five minutes are up, tellers must exit the stage. We expect this to be a little raucous, but always a loving and supportive environment. This is a fabulous opportunity to begin your storytelling journey or to hone your already developed skills.

PLUS it will be tons of fun! Be sure to like our new page and stay updated for these special events. We are very excited to introduce this groovy new vibe to Roanoke as a way to get more people sharing (and listening) to stories.

Interested in sharing a story for either event?
Interested in submitting a story pitch to be considered as a storyteller?

We encourage and welcome new voices. We ask for a detailed outline to be submitted in a private message through the Hoot and Holler Facebook Messenger or email Hootlee540@gmail.com.

We look for a beginning, middle, and end, lots of juicy details, humor and truth, conviction and confidence, and the willingness to step up in all of your brave glory to share your story. We love fresh interpretations of the theme and purposefully keep themes broad for this very reason. Think outside the box!

What compels you to want to tell this story? Dazzle us! If your story is selected, you will be coached throughout the process to prepare your story for stage. Readying a story does take a time commitment and willingness to be challenged and guided. Sharing a personal story live in front of an adoring audience is one of the most empowering experiences a person can have. The journey is an unforgettable one! To be considered for a coveted Storyteller spot, we ask that you submit your detailed story in written form through the Hoot and Holler Stories Facebook page via Messenger.

If your story is chosen, you will be coached throughout the process as we ready your story from page to stage.  We cannot wait for this incredible night as we celebrate and honor our journeys as human beings who inhabit bodies.

Our shows do sell out at the Grandin, so it is advisable to grab your tickets as early as possible. You do not want to miss this spectacular show!
