A program of virtuoso works for solo violin by Bach, Paganini, and Goodfriend.

As a violinist with the Kandinsky Trio, one of only six piano trios to win the coveted CHAMBER MUSIC AMERICA RESIDENCY AWARD in the award's 30-year history, Benedict Goodfriend is well known to both Virginia and national audiences, having performed over 1,000 concerts on major concert series in 200 cities.
  
His solo performances with orchestras have spanned the globe from the Zagreb Musicverein (with the Solisti di Zagreb) to Taipei ’s National Concert Hall. Other engagements have taken him to France, Portugal, Switzerland, Germany, and China. In the United States he has appeared in such halls as Jordan and Symphony Hall in Boston, The Kennedy Center, New York’s Carnegie Hall, Wiel Recital Hall, Merkin Hall, and Miller Theatre, Atlanta’s Spivey Hall, Cincinnati’s Arnoff Center, Michigan’s Wharton Center, and many others.

A frequent guest at festivals around the world, Goodfriend has performed at the Fontana and Interlochen Festivals in Michigan, the Ohio chamber music festival, Garth Newel festival, Sarah Lawrence Music Festival, the Portugal Festival and  International Masterclasses in Blonay Switzerland, where he served as Artistic Director.  His concerts have been aired numerous times on National Public Radio's “Performance today” and “All Songs Considered” , WNYC's Around New York, WQXR New York “Artists in Concert”, and over the Maine, Minnesota,  Georgia and Nevada  Public Radio networks.

Goodriend plays on a 1908 Stefano Scarampella violin.
