Documentary presented by the Virginia Historical Society. Q and A by the film’s producer Jeff Boedeker and Lizzie Oglesby of the VA Historical Society. Narration by Roanoke's own Nelson Harris.

A year and a half in the making, Virginia Voices incorporates crowdsourced footage, professionally shot pieces, and segments filmed by Virginians who were given a camera to capture their lives, hopes, and dreams. This new way of filmmaking reveals an unfiltered, sincere, and intimate portrait of Virginians today.

Lizzie Oglesby is the Senior Officer for Public Relations and Marketing at the Virginia Historical Society. She is an award-winning photographer and a filmmaker. She exhibits her work nationally with an eye towards fundraising for schools and charities. She graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a M.F.A. in Photography. She holds a B.A. in Film & Photography from Hollins University.

Jeff Boedeker has produced films for the National Geographic Society and is Director of BPI's Richmond production office. He is a senior producer of high-profile films, multimedia interactive installations, and new forms of media, specializing in pushing the boundaries of storytelling via compelling narratives and digital installations by blending cinematic elements, computer technology, and cutting-edge interactivity.
